Global Shutter 1080p 3CMOS sensor HDTV studio & production camera

The SK-HD1800E is a high-performance, global shutter HDTV portable studio & production camera. KOKUSAI DENKI has implemented the latest imaging technology by using newly developed global shutter 3CMOS sensors to create outstanding HD images for new achievements in high sensitivity and no vertical smear.

KOKUSAI DENKI's advanced digital signal processing

Each essential part of the KOKUSAI DENKI SK-HD1800E camera system has its own DSP processor. Unique, independent DSP IC's are used for camera head processing, the transmission system and Camera Control Unit (CCU) processing. KOKUSAI DENKI's new, power efficient digital signal processors are designed to work with future 2K imaging technologies, offering excellent return on investment.

The SK-HD1800E achieves an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio specification of 62dB using KOKUSAI DENKI's proprietary low-noise circuit technology. Standard sensitivity is rated at F10 (59.94Hz)/F11 (50Hz) at 2000 lx. Clear images are obtained with little noise, even at high gain. High horizontal resolution performance of 1000TVL (Luminance channel) is the pinnacle of picture sharpness and is an attribute of the most transparent signal processing path of any KOKUSAI DENKI digital camera manufactured to date.

Digital signal transmission via Hybrid Fiber Optical Cable

The SK-HD1800E camera system utilizes industry standard Hybrid Fiber-optic cable (HFOC) connectors made of high-strength materials, that insure durability and reliable performance under the most demanding TV production conditions. The maximum HFOC length with applied camera power and fully operational facilities is 4,000m (13,200 feet) with no utility power*. Optical power meters at the camera head (via engineering menu) and CCU front panel indicate the optical condition of both transmitting and receiving signals independently to accurately depict proximity to the "digital cliff" (maximum cable distance) or provide basic HFOC diagnostics.

Dockable design

KOKUSAI DENKI's 2-piece chassis allows the use of Digital Fiber (1.5G and/or 3G), Digital Triax (1.5G and/or 3G) and Wireless camera adapters to offer the greatest flexibility.

Economical version of 1080p Camera adaptor CA-HF550 and CU-HD5500 available for customers who don’t require the advanced expansion options and extra I/O connections of the flagship CU-HD1300 CCU series. ◼ 4K output with 12G-SDI will be available as optional model CU-HD550-S1 by combining with 1080p camera head

The high-performance touchscreen Remote Control Unit RU-1500JY-R1/-S3/S11 is connected to the Camera Control Unit (CCU) for remote operation of the camera or directly to the SK-HD camera series or Z-HD camera series. The RU-1500JY-S3&S11 has at on the top panel are lit by back light. Operators can see signs on the panel in the dark operation room.

All key Camera Control functions, such as the one touch color temperature function, makes the RU-1500JY-R1/-S3/S11 ideal not only for professional TV studios but also for OB van use. Lens iris control, pedestal control and preview switch are assembled with an axis joystick control knob (RU-1500JY/-S3/S11). The camera can be easily adjusted using the 3.5 inch LCD touchscreen panel and rotary encoders. Custom switches further support the professional user in designing a personal workflow.

The SU-1000 Setup Control Unit is used for the adjustment of camera parameters in a multi-camera production environment.Utilizing a new wide touch screen LCD panel that expands control functions.

It is connected directly to each CCU in parallel fashion via serial data cable, 12 cameras can be directly controlled from the SU-1000. Serial Camera control can be extended from 12 cameras up to 48 cameras(option).

RJ45 Network control up to 128 camera with a distance of up to 100 meters (with repeater this can be extended).

The compact and lightweight SU-1000 features Color LCD indicators in the display section to easily identify and access the provided control parameters. The unit is sufficiently small and lightweight enough to be used in space deprived locations such as encountered on a broadcast OB Van.

The SU-1000 has these primary functions:
